How a license works
Your key arrives by email
Minutes after checkout. Keep that email: the key is stored only as a one-way hash, so it cannot be looked up later.
Activate once
Enter the key while installing Prism. After that one check, your installation works offline.
A year of updates
Every Prism release in the first year is included. Ask us to extend updates whenever you like.
Never switched off
Your license does not expire. The version you have keeps working, updates or not.
Questions
What do I need to run Prism?
A web host with PHP 8, a MySQL database and an HTTPS certificate: an ordinary shared-hosting plan is enough. You upload the files, open the installer, and enter your key. People then use it in a browser on a computer, tablet or phone.
Are there monthly fees?
No. A license is a one-time purchase that runs for life: no subscription and no per-user charges. It includes a year of updates; after that you can ask us to extend them, or keep using the version you have. Your only running cost is the web hosting you already choose.
What happens to a release after my year of free updates?
Your installation still runs and keeps working without any change. You’ll have the option to download updated versions at a discount.
I lost my key.
Contact us with your order number and we will issue a replacement. The old key stops working when the new one is issued.
We are moving to a new server.
You can back up and export your data from within the app for a clean install on the new server. License keys are tied to the installation that first used it. Tell us and we will release it so the new server can activate. Copying the configuration file across will not carry the license with it.
Can I get my data out?
Yes, always. Export any list to CSV or JSON, or download the whole workspace as a backup you can restore. Your records live in your own database on your own server, so there is nothing to be locked into.
Can I pay by invoice or purchase order?
Card payment at checkout is quickest. If your company needs an invoice or a purchase order first, contact us before you buy.
Is sales tax included?
The price shown excludes any sales tax or VAT. If tax applies where you are, it is shown at checkout before you pay.
Do my team members need their own licenses?
No, for users operating out of the same lab, one license covers one Prism installation, and everyone you invite signs in to it with their own account.
I have multiple labs across the world. Can they share a license?
No, each lab will need its own Prism license and installation, after which time you can set your lab network and link labs in Settings, controlling data sharing and permissions as needed.
